Jon Richey

Jon Richey is a dedicated flameworking artist specializing in borosilicate glass. He began his journey in 2000 through an apprenticeship with a local glass artist in Charleston, South Carolina. Over the years, Jon has honed his craft while living and working in diverse locations, including Vancouver, British Columbia; various parts of Colorado and Georgia; and most recently, Raleigh, North Carolina (where he is now based in the Triangle area, teaching and demonstrating at Liberty Arts Studio in Durham).

Today, Jon creates custom pieces for gallery clients and private collectors, often focusing on personal craft projects that showcase his technical mastery in flameworking techniques. Passionate about the medium, he enjoys mentoring fellow glass enthusiasts, sharing his expertise through workshops, demonstrations, and classes—helping others explore and appreciate the art of sculpting glass with fire and precision.
